Order online, shipped nationwide
We ship across the United States. Every order is packed and dispatched from Evanston, Illinois, from stock that was in Belgium days earlier.
What weekly air freight actually means
Leonidas pralines are made without preservatives and are meant to be eaten within weeks. That is not a limitation, it is the point and it is what separates a fresh Belgian praline from a shelf-stable chocolate that has spent a season in a warehouse.
Keeping that promise means flying the chocolate in rather than shipping it by sea. Ours arrives from Belgium every week.
- 100% pure cocoa butter never palm oil, never frozen.
- Over 100 varieties, including vegan, gluten-free, reduced-sugar and CRC-certified kosher lines.
- Full allergen, ingredient and nutrition information published for every assortment, see allergens & ingredients.
- Made in Belgium, not manufactured or repackaged in the United States.
How your order ships
- Carriers: FedEx, UPS and USPS, with standard, 2-day and next-day options.
- Same-day dispatch on orders placed before 12:00 PM EST, excluding holidays and peak weeks.
- Free ground shipping on orders over $61 to the contiguous United States, when destination temperatures allow it to travel safely.
- Summer, and hot states year-round: from 1 May to 1 October, and all year to AZ, CA, FL, GA, LA, NM, NV, SC and TX, orders ship overnight. Your exact shipping cost is shown at checkout before you pay.
We would rather explain this plainly than surprise you at the till. Chocolate made from pure cocoa butter has a low melting point that is a mark of quality, not a defect and getting it to i.e. Phoenix in July takes an overnight service and proper packaging. It costs more. It is also the only way the chocolate arrives as chocolate.

Find Leonidas near you
Leonidas stockists trade in a number of US cities, and locations change more often than anyone would like. We keep guides for the three we are asked about most:
- Leonidas chocolate in New York
- Leonidas chocolate in Chicago
- Leonidas chocolate in Miami
- Leonidas chocolate in LA
If the shop you used to visit has closed, or there was never one near you, we will ship to you directly — usually within two to three days.
What "official US importer" actually means
Leonidas licenses its brand for retail in the United States rather than operating company-owned stores here. We have held that licence since 2005, and in practice it means three things.
We import rather than resell. Our chocolate comes to us from Leonidas in Belgium on a standing weekly air freight. It does not pass through a wholesaler, a liquidator or a marketplace middleman, and we always know how old it is and how it has been kept.
We supply the retailers. If you have bought Leonidas from a shop in the United States, there is a fair chance it came through us first. We also help people open Leonidas retail points — shops, chocolate cafés, store-in-store counters and kiosks. If that interests you, see opening a Leonidas point of sale.
We stand behind the condition it arrives in. Chocolate is fragile and the logistics network is not gentle. If an order arrives wrong, email us with a photo and we will put it right.
You can read more about the house and its history on our Leonidas chocolate page, or about the craft itself in our guide to authentic Belgian chocolate.
Frequently asked questions
Does leonidas.com ship to the USA?
No. leonidas.com is the Belgian brand's global site and has no US checkout. Its European store, e-shop.leonidas.com, delivers within Europe. To order Leonidas in the United States, buy from us as the official US importer, or from an authorised US stockist.
Is Leonidas-USA the official Leonidas importer for the United States?
Yes. We have been the official US importer since 2005 and supply Leonidas retail points across the country.
Where is the chocolate made?
In Belgium, by Leonidas. It is air-freighted to us every week. Nothing is manufactured or repackaged in the United States.
Do you ship to all fifty states?
We ship nationwide. Destinations in hot climates require an expedited service so the chocolate travels quickly and cold, and that is reflected in the shipping options shown at checkout.
Will it melt in summer?
Not if it is shipped properly. From May through October, and year-round to the warmest states, orders go overnight with protective packaging. This is also why we don't offer slow, cheap shipping in July — it would not arrive as chocolate.
How fresh will it be?
Leonidas pralines contain no preservatives and are made to be eaten within weeks. Our weekly air freight is what makes that possible: what reaches you left Belgium days ago, not last season.
Is there a Leonidas shop near me?
Possibly — see the city guides above. Shops open and close, so if the nearest one has gone, we will deliver to you instead.
Are the Leonidas listings on marketplaces official?
Third-party sellers do list Leonidas products on marketplaces. We can't speak to the age of that stock, how it was stored or how it was handled, because we didn't ship it. If you want chocolate that came off a Belgian production line within the last week, order it here.
Can you handle corporate and event gifting?
Yes. We supply offices, events and weddings across the country, and can add custom branded ribbons and greeting cards. See business gifts or email info@leonidas-usa.com with your quantities and dates.
