The Leonidas Corporate Chocolate Gift Guide: Clients, Teams, and the Holidays

1st Sep 2026

There is a moment every autumn when someone in your office realizes the client gifts have not been ordered. It is usually late November. It is usually a scramble, and the scramble usually costs money — rushed shipping, whatever is left in stock, a gift that says we remembered you on the 3rd of December.

The alternative is to spend an hour on it now.

This is a practical guide to corporate gifting with Belgian chocolate: what to send, who to send it to, what it costs at volume, and why the calendar matters more than most people expect. Leonidas-USA has been bringing Leonidas Belgian chocolates to American customers since 2005, and we ship business gift programs nationwide from our facility in Evanston, Illinois.

WHY SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER ARE THE RIGHT MONTHS TO DECIDE

Three reasons, and none of them are a sales tactic.

Custom branding takes production time. A ribbon printed with your company name or logo is manufactured, not pulled off a shelf. If you want branded presentation on a December delivery, the decision belongs in autumn, not in the first week of December.

Volume pricing rewards one decision, not five. Our discounts are tiered by order size and applied automatically. A department that orders forty gifts in one go lands in a better tier than the same department ordering eight gifts five times. Consolidating is worth real money — see the table below.

The shipping calendar has fewer days in it than you think. We do not deliver on weekends or Mondays, because chocolate sitting in a distribution hub over a weekend is chocolate you would not want to receive. Orders placed before 12:00 PM EST are typically processed the same day. In practice, December has fewer usable delivery slots than the calendar suggests, and they fill.

WHAT A BUSINESS GIFT ORDER INCLUDES

Qualifying business orders on leonidas-usa.com come with four things beyond the chocolate itself:

• Volume pricing, applied automatically at checkout — no coupon code, no phone call required.
• Personalized greeting cards, so each recipient gets your message rather than a packing slip.
• Custom branded ribbons carrying your company name or logo.
• Multi-address US delivery, so one order can reach a hundred different desks, homes, and offices.

No coupon required — volume discounts are applied automatically to qualifying orders. Note that discounted items do not earn customer loyalty points.

Custom branding is ordered as an add-on: a custom branded ribbon is $250 and a custom greeting card is $150, each covering the setup for your order. Call us to choose colors, and we will tell you where to send your logo file.

For anything at scale — a full holiday program, a conference order, a distributed team — email help@leonidas-usa.com and a person will build it with you.

CHOOSING THE GIFT: THREE DIFFERENT JOBS

Corporate gifting is not one activity. These three have different budgets, different logistics, and different failure modes.

Client and business development gifts

This is the highest-stakes category and usually the smallest list. The gift is standing in for you in a room you are not in, so per-unit spend matters more than efficiency.

What works: the 1913 Maître Chocolatier collections, our premium line, from $29 for a nine-piece gold gift box up to $89 for the forty-piece assortment, with a 500g, 35-piece blue heritage box at $82. For a gift that occupies a desk rather than a drawer, the Belgian Tin House with a 1 lb ballotin is $74 — the tin outlasts the chocolate by years, which is not a small thing when the point is to be remembered.

Add a personalized greeting card. A client gift with a printed corporate card and no personal line is a missed opportunity that costs nothing to fix.

Employee appreciation and HR programs

The defining feature here is not budget, it is addresses. A distributed team means fifty separate shipments, and that is the part that turns a nice idea into an administrative afternoon. Multi-address US delivery is exactly what that capability is for: one order, one approval, fifty doors.

What works at this scale: the Brussels Tin Box at $39 — fourteen chocolates of your choice, roughly 12 oz — or the Napolitan Assortment, twenty-four individually wrapped squares at $35, or fifty-four at $59. Wrapped squares also travel well into a shared office where people want one, not a box.

The most efficient option on the page is the ten-ballotin bundle: ten half-pound gold ballotins for $295, reduced from $335. That is $29.50 per gift, before any volume discount, in the packaging most people picture when they picture Belgian chocolate. For a team of ten, it is close to unbeatable.

Holiday programs and events

Once a list runs past a hundred names — an all-hands gift, a conference, a client book — you are into the 12.5% tier, and past 250 gifts we price it individually. This is also where lead time stops being advice and becomes arithmetic. Branded ribbon, multi-address routing, and a delivery window that avoids weekends and Mondays all have to be sequenced. Email help@leonidas-usa.com with your recipient count, your per-gift budget, and your target delivery date, and we will work backwards from it.

THE DETAIL THAT QUIETLY RUINS CORPORATE GIFT LISTS

Dietary requirements. A gift someone cannot eat is worse than no gift, and on a list of fifty employees there will be several.

Leonidas makes over a hundred different kinds of Belgian chocolate, and our US catalogue includes vegan, gluten-free, reduced-sugar and kosher selections, with allergen and ingredient information published on the site. If you are building a program for a whole team, you can send a genuinely equivalent gift to everyone on it rather than a chocolate box to most people and an apologetic email to the rest.

HOW YOUR ORDER ACTUALLY GETS THERE

We import from Belgium regularly rather than treating chocolate as a long-storage commodity, which is the whole reason a Leonidas praline tastes like one. They are made with 100% pure cocoa butter — never palm oil — along with fresh butter and dairy cream, and they are designed to be enjoyed fresh. Every order leaves our facility at 1907 Central Street, Evanston, Illinois.

• Carriers: FedEx, UPS and USPS, with Standard, 2-Day and Next-Day options.
• Same-day processing for orders placed before 12:00 PM EST, excluding holidays and peak periods.
• No weekend or Monday deliveries — chocolate does not sit in transit over a weekend on our watch.
• Heat protection: from 1 May to 1 October, and year-round to Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, New Mexico, Nevada, South Carolina and Texas, orders ship overnight so the chocolate travels fast and cold. That is a requirement, not an upsell.
• Free shipping applies to contiguous US states when daytime temperatures at the destination are below 72°F. Alaska, Hawaii and hot-weather destinations may require upgraded service, and we will show you the cost before you check out.
• Check your addresses. A carrier address correction costs $13, and on a fifty-recipient list, sloppy data is expensive.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need to call to get the volume discount?
No. Volume discounts are applied automatically to qualifying orders at checkout — there is no coupon code to enter. For orders over 250 gifts, or anything that needs custom pricing, email help@leonidas-usa.com.

Do discounted business orders earn loyalty points?
No. Discounted items are excluded from the customer loyalty program.

When is the latest I can order for a December delivery?
It depends on the size of your order, whether it includes custom branded ribbon, and how many addresses it goes to. Custom branding requires additional production time, and we do not deliver on weekends or Mondays. Email help@leonidas-usa.com with your target date and we will confirm the deadline for your specific order.

Can I still order chocolate gifts in warm weather?
Yes, year-round. From May through October, and always to the warmest states, orders ship overnight so they arrive in the condition they left in.

How fresh will the chocolate be?
Leonidas pralines are made with fresh butter and dairy cream and are designed to be enjoyed fresh, not stored. We import from Belgium regularly for exactly that reason, so your recipients get the same chocolates sold in Leonidas shops in Belgium rather than something that has spent a season in a warehouse.

Who do I talk to about a large program?

Email help@leonidas-usa.com, or call +1 (312) 929-2323 — the same number works for phone, SMS and WhatsApp.
